Hello and welcome!

My name Nina Waldman, and I am a Swedish and American artist currently living in northwest Skåne. I have lived in America, India, and now in Sweden. I am passionate about nature, especially local nature, as is evident in my art.

I have worked with many media, and a large part of my professional work has been portraiture in chalk pastel and oil paint.

But a couple of years ago I was invited by a neighbor to try something I had always found fascinating but never considered that I would ever try: blacksmithing.

And now I have completed my course in artistic blacksmithing from Smedja Volund! 

One thing about ironwork that I particularly appreciate is functionality. Functional art. A painting has, of course, a function in itself: to provoke feelings, to remind about someone or something, to honor the subject, etc. But to create something that is interesting and/or beautiful that also has a practical function is something I find very satisfying and personally meaningful.
